| On a 1-10 scale we give Schervier Nursing Care Center and Burke at Schervier a 12! We have been very satisfied—everyone here is cheerful, they motivate you, want to make you happy, and they want you to get well. Schervier is an attractive facility and everyone here has a smile. --Flo and Larry, Riverdale, with Burke Rehabilitation Therapist, Steve ________________________________________________________ March 29, 2005
My name is Helen and I was at the Schervier Nursing Care Center from March 7th until March 26th and I was treated so nice by all the staff that I did not want to come home and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I am 90 years old so it meant so much to me. The kindness of everyone towards me was simply overwhelming. Just wanted to let you know that you can be very proud of all your workers at Schervier.
Sincerely, Helen

My Aunt Lena was a resident at Schervier Nursing Care Center for eight years. During those eight years she came close to death but always rallied partly from her own will and determination and partly because of the dedicated and caring nursing staff on St. Agnes Hall. I would especially like to commend Daisy, Marie, Alice and Pat, the main nurses involved in her care, and Rosa (recently retired), Eureka and her night nursing attendants. Also many departments made a contribution in prolonging and making Lenas life more comfortable, from Social Services, Nutrition/Food Service, Laundry, Housekeeping, etc. Most important, her spiritual needs were met by Sr. Sheila and Fr. Anthony and Mr. Charles with daily communion and culminating with the most beautiful funeral mass. Thank you to ALL.
Sincerely,
Mary

"Placing my wife Elizabeth in a nursing care facility was the toughest decision of my life. I was so fearful she wouldn't receive the personal care I struggled to provide for her in my home. Clover was assigned to care for my wife, and this assignment was a match made in heaven. Clover cares for my wife like a loving daughter cares for her mother. We can leave Schervier knowing that Elizabeth is being well-cared for and being treated like a valuable human being."
Sincerely,
Peter

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the tender care that your staff gave my mother, Kathryn, during her stay at your nursing care facility. Your dedicated staff showed devotion and love towards my mother as if she was their own. My mother was always telling me during my visits there how nice and respectful your staff was to her. Even to this day she talks about the staff at your facility, how personable they are and how they called her "yiayia." This is Greek for grandmother, and she felt like she was their own grandmother. My entire family is extremely appreciative and grateful for all that your staff has done.
Sincerely,
Vasil

On May 14 my Dad, Frank, a resident at Schervier since July 2004, passed away. I am so very grateful to Schervier-and in particular to the people who cared for him, and in turn cared for me throughout his stay there. The kindness, the honest caring and level of concern of certain staff members is almost impossible to put into words. I hope that my letter can begin to express my thanks to Schervier and some very caring staff who had a very special place in my Dad's heart and who I will never forget.
Sincerely, Rosalie Ann

Words cannot express how grateful my brother and I have been to have my mother, Josephine, at Frances Schervier Nursing Care Center. Through a miracle of God, she was admitted and was cared for by the most compassionate people I have ever met. I just want to say thank you to you and the rest of the staff for everything you have all done for my mom.
Sincerely,
Diane

Dr. Matfus, I want to thank you for your terrific advice recommending the Burke rehabilitation center and hospice facility at Frances Schervier Nursing Care Center. This center provided the exact care and attention that my mom, Mary, needed as well as giving her hope that there would be better days ahead. She had all the comforts of home and enjoyed the professional care from the Schervier Nursing Staff. Her delight was even raised higher when she was able to have her hair done by their in-house beautician.
Sincerely,
Patrick

I am writing to you to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Schervier Nursing Care Center for their professional and meticulous care of my father, John. During his stay until the day of his death on December 11, 2003, he was treated with the utmost of respect and loving kindness. All of the nurses and aides on 4th floor south saw to his needs. Their response to any problem he may have had was dealt with quickly and with understanding. Cheri and Faith, the head nurses, were exceptional, and were very capable in monitoring his health needs. All of the 4th floor south staff made my family and me feel comfortable and welcome when we visited him every day. My dad also spent 6 weeks in rehabilitation on the sixth floor. During this time he was able to regain his speech and some use of his right arm. The tremendous progress was due to the faithful dedication of your skilled staff in Occupational and Physical Therapy. They brought life back to those who were suffering so much and because of their positive attitude, I know it gave my dad a chance to live his last 7 months of life with dignity and hope. On behalf of my family, may I thank everyone at Schervier for being such a trustworthy establishment.
Sincerely, Philip
